Sučuraj
is
a village and small harbour in the cove of the same name, on the
eastern part of the island of Hvar.
Chief occupations include farming, viniculture, olive growing,
fishing, fish processing and tourism. Sucuraj is closest to the
mainland, representing, with its nice inlets and beaches, quality
domestic food (fish, wine), the forerunner of organized tourism on
the island. The sea around Sucuraj is rich in perchards, and its
inhabitants are true masters in salting perchards, so that this
speciality is worth tasting. |
