Maslinica
is
a village and harbour in the cove of the same name, on the western
coast of the island of
Šolta.
Maslinica is a place of unique natural beauty, with a
well-indented coast and numerous pebble beaches. The coastal belt
with a number of islets (Stipanska, Radula, Balkun, Polebrnjak,
Grmej, Kamicic) offers excellent opportunities for underwater
fishing and angling. The population of Maslinica has always been
dependent on the sea. Skilled fishermen are engaged in tourism as
well, and the village is famous for fresh fish. The traditional
fishermen's fiesta is organized during the tourist season. |
