Stara Baška
is
a village on the south-eastern coast of the island of Krk, 8 km
southeast of Punat. The Stara Baska Bay is partly protected from
the bora but is exposed to south winds from the Kvarneric Bay. The
bottom of the bay is muddy on the southern side, stony in the
middle and sandy on the northern side. During nice weather, the
coast below the village is easily accessible by smaller ships and
yachts. Chief occupations include farming, viniculture, olive
growing, fishing and tourism.A number of visitor opportunities
make it an attractive tourist destination: numerous sand and
pebble beaches, vacation and boarding houses, a campsite, water
sports opportunities, especially underwater fishing, home-made
food (fish, honey, lamb), impressive landscapes. |
