VISNJAN, a village in the interior
of western Istria, 12 km northeast of Porec; elevation 244 m;
population 621. The village of a concentrated type is located on
a mild slope. Visnjan was first mentioned in 1203. Chief
occupations are farming and livestock breeding. The village is
located on the regional road Porec - main road Buje - Pula (M2,
E751). |

Similar to all places in the region of Porec, so-called
Porestina, Visnjan is also famous for vineyards and quality
wines; it is also attractive because of its cultural heritage.
Visnjan organizes the traditional fair of agricultural and other
products, held on every last Thursday in the month. |
