The town is particularly known for the nearby Dvigrad - an
interesting archaeological site, and the famous local fair
called Jakovljevo, organized in honour of the patron saint, St.
James (in July). Part of the fair is also the exhibition of the
indigenous Istrian cattle (boskarin), now threatened by
extinction so that efforts are made to reintroduce and protect
it. The surroundings is interesting for hiking and cycling. |
